Boys Groups

Empowering our next generation of men with

Emotional Intelligence

We can help set up peer-led talking groups for boys and young men in your school or organisation

We give you the tools to hold your own boys groups, at a quality that’s accredited by the ACCPH to train therapists and top professionals. Let's work together to change the narrative on what it means to be a man and support boys to grow into the men they were born to be, fulfilling their potential.

We also facilitate boys groups for the boys, train teachers and staff and provide supervision for facilitators so they are fully supported beyond our trainings.

We create spaces for boys to hang out, be heard and get real.

The structure is designed to bring everyone on the same side, to celebrate healthy competition and enable conscious collaboration. They are empowered to relieve unhealthy isolation through sharing thoughts and feelings, encouraging explorations of personal experience so boys know that they are not alone and that there’s nothing wrong with them - so the spell of isolation and toxic over-thinking is broken.

We are experiencing a historical change in society’s attitude towards mental health. It’s no longer a taboo subject and there’s a growing awareness that getting young men to open up and talk about their issues isn’t just an opportunity to prevent boys from boiling over, but a chance to help grow into more empowered, purposeful, passionate, well-rounded successful individuals.

Training

Our accredited trainings are practical and thorough, designed to enable boys to facilitate their own boys groups, with confidence.

Why young men’s / boys’ groups?

  • Cheap and effective means of early mental health prevention
  • Unlike counselling can include multiple students

  • Is more likely to engage with males
  • Develops emotional intelligence, teamwork & communication skills
  • Better mental health results in better academic performance

“1/10 young people have an emerging or more significant mental health disorder. There is evidence that many of these young people can be effectively supported by their peers to become more resilient and as a result not go on to develop more severe difficulties. Young people typically are much more likely to engage with their peers than an adult.”

Dr Simon Munk, Children’s mental health service lead, London borough of Newham / Chair of More than Mentors peer mentoring board

Our bespoke trainings in schools are attended by boys and some schools also train their staff. Our Amazon No. 1 best selling ebook is a great place to start. Our MenFacilitate day trainings are available to adults, our daily MenCheck-in men’s groups and our weekly YoungMenSpeak groups have been held since lockdown and our founder Kenny has been holding MenSpeak men’s group for over two decades. He and his accredited facilitators will launch an online training later in the year, so please make contact to stay in the loop.
